Job summary:
Reporting to the Laboratory Director, the Project Specialist person manages and executes different types of functional food product innovation, development and improvement projects arising from opportunities identified by management. He/she must ensure to monitor performance indicators related to the projects. The position allows you to navigate the world of customer service as well as the concrete execution of product development. More specifically:
Food specialist
· Formulate and develop new products in accordance with project specifications, industrial constraints and in accordance with all regulatory aspects of the various markets (Canada, United States and Europe)
· Participate in the research and development of product innovations and test new ingredients on the market
· Actively participate in optimizing manufacturing costs by supporting operations in finding and replacing missing or discontinued ingredients or finding less expensive ingredients and by optimizing parameters / formulation for production (bilingualism required)
· Creation and revision of technical documents related to the products developed
· Ensure the implementation of new production recipes by establishing factory procedures and product specifications and by being present on the production lines at the time of the first productions.
Projects
· Ensure the monitoring and smooth running of all stages of the project (formulation to industrialization);
· Coordinate the work of R and D technicians in order to achieve the set objectives;
· Ensure the transfer of relevant information to the various departments involved during a launch or redesign of products such as the database, logistics, purchasing, planning, marketing and operations;
